scroll story
graphic design project
I was instructed to develop an interactive scroll story for my VIS 207: Introduction to Graphic Design class. With the ability to choose any topic, I knew that I wanted to create something about the FIFA World Cup. So, this project focuses on the World Cup's presence in the New York/New Jersey area, with Met Life stadium being chosen to host the finals. As both a soccer player and a New Yorker, this World Cup is not only exciting, but feels like a huge sense of pride.
With my audience being mainly Syracuse University students in this class, the goal was to create a story educating them about the scale, impact, and preparation involved in hosting the World Cup final. Through this, I hoped they would understand the significance of the event being hosted so locally. Maybe, it would push them to learn more about the event beyond this story, or even watch some games for themself.
Per our professor's instruction, the written content of this story was generated using artificial intelligence. The visual elements were designed by me using Adobe Illustrator, and the final scroll story was assembled using Figma. I utilized a color palette of red, blue, and green because these are the official colors of the 2026 World Cup. The title and header font–Sporty Pro Bold–is often used for sports branding and jerseys. My intention behind these design choices was to capture the event's vibe and make the experience feel more legitimate. I invite you to experience my scroll story for yourself below!
